Walt has been a role player and coach for the Negotiation and Advanced Negotiations Programs since 2013. His training and coaching focuses on building personal connections, using empathy, asking more questions and talking less, and really understanding the interests of clients before proposing solutions.

Experience & Client History

Walt has worked with participants from entry level to senior partners in several industries, and, in all cases, helped them take their negotiating skills to the next level.

He is a Certified Professional Coach through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC), an affiliate of the International Coach Federation, the coaching profession’s preeminent governing body.

International Experience

Walt has delivered customized programs in Canada and Sweden, in addition to USA.

Professional Background

Walt spent 29 years in corporate settings, the last 25 in the pharmaceutical industry. He held positions in sales, sales management, marketing, managed care, human resources, and training and development.  Walt contributed to the bottom-line and to the development of people throughout his career.

While in his last position as Director of Leadership Development for Ortho Biotech, a Johnson & Johnson company, he brought in SNI to help his District Sales Managers learn the negotiating principles that would be needed to succeed when dealing with complex hospital and managed care accounts.

Education and Personal

Walt received a BA in Sociology, and an AS in Journalism from the University of New Haven in Connecticut.  He also received an MBA in Marketing from Pace University in New York City.  

In addition to his coaching certification, Walt is also certified in facilitating virtual sessions through the Association of Talent Development.
